How do i get an oil filter off and 89 HD FXRS? I can't get it to budge?

I have drained the oil from the oil tank but i can't figure out which way to loosen up the filter so i can change it....i have pretty much dented the hell out of it so far but it still won't moveHow do i get an oil filter off and 89 HD FXRS? I can't get it to budge?All oil filters are removed the same way - counterclockwise, just like any fastener. The oil filter was probably over tightened at the last oil change. A special type of strap wrench will remove any oil filter. As you turn it, it tightens in on the filter. You might be able to get one at an auto parts dealer. This is what it looks like. Removing a filter is always counter clockwise. Only a few components are reverse such as the drive sproket on your Evo motor. Sounds like somebody overtightend the filter. Go to your autoparts store and check out the different types of filter wrenchs they carry. There should be something that can help you.How do i get an oil filter off and 89 HD FXRS? I can't get it to budge?Always put a small film of oil on the oil filter (rubber) gasket. Clean the gasket sealing surface on the crankcase. Most filters are tightened to 3/4 to a full turn after the gasket contacts the sealing surface.
